Making Photo Sharing Apps More Personal
With active user count down and falling, the goal was to create a feature that attracted and excited younger users.
Challenge
Aperture’s photo-sharing app is free to use, and the company monetizes the app by selling advertising space. Recently, the number of active users has declined as users interact with the app less and less. Some have stopped using it altogether. The app lacked features that were connecting with younger users.
Results
The new Group Spaces feature provided users with a robust and fresh feature that enabled them to communicate authentically, engage, and personally. The goal was to have 70% of users interact with group spaces within their first 3 visits of the feature release and for a sustained 5% app usage growth.
